Crumbling Castles 10" Vinyl (Flightloss Records)

What would a vinyl release of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's 2017 single 'Crumbling Castle' have looked like?

Through the King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Official Bootlegger initiative, we have brought that to reality.

The aim of this product is to seamlessly integrate it into the discography of the band. This includes the font, typography, logos, insignia, (and Flightloss branding). The idea being to mimic a King Gizzard release as closely as possible, down to the finest detail.

To bring this vision to life, Lewy Jones (@lewyjones on IG & /u/lewjrew on Reddit) went above and beyond in designing the entire package. Lewy’s style and appreciation for the Gizzverse is proudly on display in the overarching themes and fine details of his work.

Collaborating on this bootlegger album art, I wanted to incorporate influences from past King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard album artworks which feature the crumbling castle and mountains motif. Following this direction I collaged elements from the bootlegger Polygondwanaland Asset pack provided by the band and Jason Galea, to paint a representation of two opposing ‘crumbling castles’. The green and red colour scheme symbolises a duality of the two sides of the Record and is reminiscent of the lo fi digital colours of the ‘crumbling castle’ music video. - Lewy

- Lathe-cut run of 10" vinyl pressed at Phonolab, Newcastle, Au.
- Each record is cut individually, using high-quality German cutting lathes.
- Double-coloured vinyl - one side is green, one side is red.
- Limited run of 33.
